Fan is a prick-eared pretty little bitch weighing 43 lbs. She is extremely biddable and willing to please. She has a nice pleasant nature about sheep and is a perfectionist. She has a lot of eye and extremely good balance.
She is the kind of dog who hates to make a mistake and I can't take an awful lot of credit for training her as she learned everything pretty well the first time I showed her what I wanted. She came along very fast and I was very adamant about not putting too much on her plate at too young an age.
At 17 months she was qualified for the US Nationals. We didn't go due to the distance we had to travel to Tennessee. She and Del'mar Turk CABC 122900 have had two litters of pups in her short 3 years of age and three of those pups are trialing here in BC and AB and, at times, in CA.
RMS Wisp, CBCA 1551, her son, was the Nursery Champion at the North American Sheep Dog Championship in Fillmore, CA this summer and has won numerous Nursery and Pro/Novice trials in BC.
Wisp's brother RMS Ike, CBCA 1550 is the Reserve CBCA Canadian National Nursery Champion for 2003 and just won the Pro/Novice Class at the Seabird Island Sheep Dog Trial, one of the toughest trials in BC. His brothers RMS Cap and RMS Wisp were 2nd. and 3rd. She has a litter of pups now of which two, a dog and a bitch, have been sold into Scotland to the Isle of Skye, where they will take up residence on the farm of James and Christina Lamont in November. We are very excited about this sale.
Two of the other pups are going to CA as started dogs and will be going to their new owners in June of 2004.
All the dogs from both litters have gone to working or trialing homes and we are following their progress diligently. Fan and Turk complement each other extremely well and it is evident in their pups. We will definitely be doing this breeding again.
